Why Come to the Temple Annual Meeting?

Community at Temple Israel

Rabbi’s Message – May 22, 2025

Outgoing Board President Fran Rickenbach

Why come to the Temple Annual Meeting?

While we’ve embraced virtual and hybrid meetings for our board of directors, executive committee, and Torah Study, our Annual Meeting remains a special in-person event. Why? Because it’s the one time each year when our entire membership comes together to thank our Board and officers for their leadership and dedication.  Support members stepping into new leadership roles.  Honor special volunteers for their tireless contributions to Temple.  And to conduct congregational business that we as members are obligated to participate in.

As a member of Temple Israel, this is your chance to share your input and suggestions for the upcoming year.  Your voice matters.

For the past two years, my theme as president has been building community.  We have several wonderful opportunities to connect face-to-face in the coming weeks:

  1. Annual Meeting:  Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.  Light refreshments provided.
  2. JCF Volunteer Appreciation:  Friday, May 30, 2025 at 6:00.  Join us as we get ready for the Jewish Cultural Festival and take a moment to honor the incredible volunteers who help make it all possible.  Services begin at 6:00 p.m. with Rabbi Bodney-Halasz, Rabbi Sobo and Dan Nichols.  Enjoy a delicious dinner, followed by live music in the courtyard with Dan Nichols and a cozy evening of s’mores under the stars.
  3. Jewish Cultural Festival:  Sunday, June 8, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.  Join us for a day filled with music, laughter, food, and community.

I look forward to seeing you at one of the events or all three!

Let’s come together to celebrate, share and strengthen our community.
