A Leonard Bernstein Book Club

Sunday, November 18
Neal Gittleman –
A Leonard Bernstein Book Club.

The Dorothee and Lewis Ryterband Lectures Series, sponsored by the Temple Israel Brotherhood welcomes Neal Gittleman. Brunch begins at 9:45 and the presentations begin at 10:15 a.m.  All curious about learning more about our Jewish community and the Jewish faith are welcome, members, non-members, Jewish or not.  No prior knowledge is required or expected.  Cost is $7 for individual sessions.

The celebration of the Leonard Bernstein centennial continues with a discussion of two fascinating new books about the great American maestro, Famous Father Girl: A Memoir of Growing Up Bernstein by his daughter Jamie Bernstein and On the Road and Off the Record with Leonard Bernstein: My Years with the Exasperating Genius by Charlie Harmon.  Read one,
both, or neither!  We’ll use the books as a starting point for an enlightening discussion of Bernstein’s life, music, and legacy.
