Rabbi Tina Sobo

Tina Sobo
Epstein Family Director of Education

Rabbi Tina Sobo was ordained from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati in May 2016,  and brings many talents that complement and enrich our Temple Staff, both as a trained Jewish Educator, with extensive experience in both formal and informal classrooms, and as a rabbi.

Sobo was born and raised in Connecticut.  An avid swimmer from an early age, she competed in both the World Maccabiah Games and the Pan American Games.  She attended both the Jewish Theological Seminary of America and Columbia University, completing two bachelor degrees simultaneously.   In 2010, she enrolled at Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati.  In addition to studying for the rabbinate, Sobo completed a Master of Jewish Education through the college in 2015.  During her time at HUC, she served as Director of Jewish Life for three years at the Union for Reform Judaism 6 Points Sports Academy in Greensboro, NC and as a teacher and later as Assistant Director at Kulanu, the Reform Jewish High School in Cincinnati, since 2012.

She is interested in exploring how Judaism enhances all aspects of our lives: whether that is bringing Judaism to the starting blocks at the pool, or to our secular schools, dance stages, or grocery stores.  Rabbi Sobo resides in Miamisburg with her husband, Matt, and their daughters, Stephanie and Danielle.
